Following 18 remarkable years in managing an SME from £7m to £100m turnover, Tom took time out to take his MBA at Lancaster University Management School.
After graduating in December 2007 he embarked on business consultancy, creating start up companies and looking to acquire and build another company.
With a passion to see businesses develop and grow, he, along with his business partner, established Going For Grants (a trading division of BROADTHUNDER Ltd) in 2009 which specialises in advising and applying for grant and loan funding for SME’s.
With significant operational experience and success in managing businesses, Tom knows what it is to raise funding for acquisitions, business development and capital projects ranging from £100k to £20m.
He is director of BROADTHUNDER Limited and a joint Managing Director of Going For Grants based in Manchester.
Charles is a Chartered Accountant who has considerable business experience as a partner in major accountancy practices, a business consultant advising SME’s in business development, restructuring, acquisitions and mergers, and also as an outstanding finance director in helping grow family businesses through organic and acquisition growth. He is a non executive director of a niche manufacturing business and an advisor to private clients.

With significant experience and success in this specialist field where he has created a grant department within an accountancy practice, spearheaded clients securing grants and loans from £50,000 to £500,000, he is now Chairman of BROADTHUNDER Limited and Going For Grants based in Manchester.
